In the presence of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, the Prime Minister of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ayman bin Abdulrahman inaugurated on Wednesday, the activities of 15th Arab Sports Games (Algeria 2023), which is being hosted by Algeria until July 15.

Algeria, known for its rich cultural heritage and sporting excellence, has once again taken the spotlight as it hosts the 15th edition of the Arab Sports Games. The opening ceremony, held at Algiers’ iconic July 5 stadium, dazzled spectators with a fusion of sports, culture, and art, showcasing the nation’s commitment to unity and the celebration of Arab heritage.
Esteemed officials, including Algerian Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees, and Algerian Minister of Sports Abderrahmane Hammad, among others, graced the event. Their presence emphasized the significance of the Arab Sports Games in bringing Arab nations together.
Algeria has proven itself to be an exceptional host for major sporting events in recent times. With successful ventures such as the Mediterranean Games in Oran last year, the African Championship for local players (CHAN 2022), and the African Cup of Nations for juniors in April, Algeria has garnered acclaim for its outstanding organizational capabilities and world-class sports infrastructure.
During his speech at the opening ceremony, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki conveyed sincere greetings and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister to Algeria's leadership and people and their best wishes for more success to all Arab youth and athletes.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, head of the Saudi delegation to the Arab Sports Games, and several senior figures, ministers, and heads of Arab delegations participating in the competitions.
More than 2,200 athletes representing 22 Arab countries participate in the tournament.
